The construction process of Bandit's Hideaway was challenging because this was my first time working in these mediums and creating a sculpture of this size.
My most challenging section was creating the top of the sculpture. The piece was meant to be constructed as two separate pieces that would be joined together at the site, but this became near impossible. The mesh wire would not work for the shape of the top piece, and the single strand wire could not stand on its own, meaning it would have to be attached directly to the bottom piece.
This change of plans ended up working out well, but it did alter the shape of the sculpture. Overall though I'm happy with the results Considering it was my first piece of this kind. Plus the flat shelf like parts of the top turned into nice bird perches.
